  • Hello in 2012!

I hope you had a great celebration and that you are well on your way with fulfilling your resolutions.

The year of the Dragon brought gales (strong winds) and heavy rain to London. I did not feel like leaving home; the idea of staying in with a cup of tea and an interesting book was extremely tempting. However, it was not time for chilling; two of my colleagues are under the weather, what with (because of) another wave of flu and cold going around. I had to pull myself together and get on with it. On my way to work my umbrella broke from the heavy wind, so I need to go and shop around for a new one. After the festive period the majority of people are hard up (broke), so every quid (pound) counts. While we are on the topic of dosh, some slangy words to learn this time: fiver (five pounds) and tenner (ten pounds).

Hope you find it useful. Take care.
